
HLA typing events were held at Udaipur and Jhalawar, Rajasthan (on 28 & 29 Mar 2026 ) where samples were collected from 79 families in total. Families were counselled about various aspects about Bone Marrow Transplant. With enthusiastic participation from parent groups and support from the local administration, especially at Jhalawar, we hope that these children will soon get a chance at being cured from Thalassemia and relataed blood disorders

The opportunity of being able to reach out to patients in very remote and needy parts of the country is very fulfilling. Mahasamund in Chhatisgarh has more than 18,000 sickle carriers and nearly 800 patients with sickle cell disease. Through constant efforts our team was able to connect with 40+ families and offer HLA typing at Basna. Hopefully, once the results are back, we will have the opportunity to work with the families to see if some patients may be cured.

Excited to hear about the setup of a pediatric not for profit transplant program for thalassemia and related blood disorders at Greater Noida, several families got in touch with the team at Bal Ayush requesting for support and guidance in their efforts to seek BMT for their children. As a result of this constant engagement and interaction, we were fortuante to reach about 40-50 patient families in Ludhiana, Mathura and Agra across Jan and Feb and offer them HLA typing.

We are happy to announce the launch of our electronic medical record system for clinical management of patients. Built on the openMRS platform, the system is an customized version of Bahmni, the open source EMR and Hospital system. This is a significant step in providing systematic care and management to patients at our centres. With clear digitized records of patients with chronic needs, we are able to ensure timely interventions.

A HLA typing event was held at Raipur, Chhattisgarh (on 7 Dec 2025 ) where samples were collected from 42 families. This is the first step towards finding an option of cure. Bal Ayush Foundation in collaboration with Ramakrishna CARE Hospital is setting up a new state of the art 4 bedded pediatric BMT unit which will be operational by Apr 2026.

Members of Rotary Innerwheel Club Bangalore spent time to spread smiles on the faces of the children at the Oncology ward of IGICH, Bangalore and surprised them with several gifts and goodies. The club has been supporting the cause in several ways and was also the main sponsor for the setup of the Oncology Unit.

On 20 Sep 2025, volunteers from Kavach Trust spent their day playing, singing, dancing and spreading sheer joy with the young fighters from the pediatric oncology ward at Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health. Bal Ayush Foundation facilitated and managed this event. This was a part of the Cancer Awareness Month celebrations.

A HLA typing event was held at Pratapgarh, Rajasthan (on 24 Aug 2025 ) where samples were collected from 40 families having a patient affected with Thalassemia, Sickle Cell Disease. The event saw patients from Rajasthan, MP come in with a ray of hope to find cure.

HLA typing events are held regularly at Indira Gandhi Institute of Child Health, Bangalore, which is Karnataka's biggest government pediatric facility, for patient families where Bone Marrow Transplant is an indication. HLA sample collection events are held each month and till date more than 40 families have benefited from this. The BMT unit at this hospital is due to start in 2026.
